The Civil Engineering Department was started in the year 2011 and offers U.G programme  with A.I.C.T.E approved intake of 90. The department aims to provide civil engineers of high caliber who can meet the dynamic needs of the society. The department offers a conducive environment for learning and overall development. The department also promotes student involvement in constructive co- curricular activities. Through continuous improvement process the department aims to be a pioneer at the frontier of knowledge and innovation in civil engineering.

The Department houses excellent laboratories and computing facilities for teaching and research.

The U.G programme is conducted with following specific outcomes/Objectives.

  • The graduates of this program with proficiency in mathematics and physical sciences will excel in the core areas of civil engineering such as structural, environmental and water resources engineering.
  • The graduates will plan, produce detailed drawings, write specifications and prepare cost estimates.
  • The graduates will interact with stake holders effectively and execute quality construction work applying necessary tools.

PEO1: Analyze, design and propose feasible solutions to civil engineering problems on sound principles and hence prove to be successful engineers in practice / other fields they opt for profession.

PEO2: A strong comprehension of mathematics, basic science and engineering fundamentals, to pursue higher education and take up research with zeal for lifelong learning and formulating solutions to evolving societal needs.

PEO3: Strong communication coupled with inter-personal skills and broad knowledge to understand and develop to adoptability to the situations and work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams both as team members and leaders,

PEO4: To exhibit competency in their work culture and function ethically in various professional roles and demonstrate their commitment to serve the society.

 Program Outcomes

1.Graduates shall be able to understand and apply the basic mathematical and scientific concepts that underlie the field of Civil Engineering.

2.Graduates shall possess the ability to review the research literature, design, conduct experiments, analyze, interpret the experimental results

3.Graduates shall possess the ability to identify the societal needs, formulate appropriate solutions and meaningfully contribute to major civil engineering design/projects.

4.Graduates shall be proficient in the core principles of Civil Engineering such as Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering and Water Resources Engineering, and shall be able to apply these principles in engineering practice. 

5.Graduates shall possess critical thinking abilities, problem solving skills and familiarity with the necessary software computational tools and procedures.

6.An ability to apply knowledge of contemporary issues to access the societal, legal and cultural issues related to the practice of civil and construction engineering.

7.Graduates shall maintain an awareness of contemporary issues and arrive at the environmentally sustainable solutions.

8.Graduates shall have an understanding of critical issues for professional ethics and practice.

9.Graduates shall be capable of working productively in team with meaningful contribution as a member and with leadership attributes.

11.Graduates shall be able to understand the elements of project management, construction and asset management in multidisciplinary environment.
